Meet Dr. James Y. Kim
Dr. James Kim was born in Taegu, South Korea in 1970. When he was two months old, his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Kim has always enjoyed working with his hands, and as a teenager his hobbies included building model airplanes and origami, the Asian art of folding paper. His dream of becoming a dentist was born when, as a high school student, he visited a friend’s father’s practice and saw the positive impact dentistry made in people’s lives. Dentistry, he decided, was “right down his alley,” allowing him to exercise his technical skill while helping others.
Dr. Kim completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Emory University in 1992, continuing on to Temple University School of Dentistry to attain his DMD Degree in 1996. He continues to expand his education within his field, not only out of a commitment to excellent care but also out of a true passion for the practice of dentistry. Recent additions to his services include Six Month Smiles™ accelerated orthodontics, Invisalign® clear braces, and minimally invasive, scalpel-free laser surgery with PerioLase®. He considers dentistry his “true calling in life,” and takes great pride in providing gentle, quality dental care and developing long-lasting relationships with his patients.
He and his wife, Jennifer, live in Tucker, Georgia, where Dr. Kim has been practicing family and cosmetic dentistry since 1997. Dentistry has proven to be the challenging and rewarding career he always wanted, and he couldn’t imagine a better place to practice: when he moved to Tucker, he says, it “felt like home.” The Kims love serving and being a part of the Tucker community. In his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife and two sons, Dylan and Ryan.

We have a dedicated area where every instrument is wrapped, disinfected, and made ready before your visit. Each room is also sanitized between patients. Your safety and your comfort are top priorities for us, and we’re proud to go above and beyond the standards for you.

Our entire team fulfills their responsibility to continuing education, attending dental conventions, seminars, and lectures. Children’s habits such as teeth brushing and finger sucking are of primary concern to dentists, because they can seriously affect smile development.
